Two Recommended Bakso in Karawang

Bakso/Baso is one of the most famous streetfood in Indonesia. You can find 'Warung Bakso' almost everywhere. Bakso means meatball, unlike western meatball which is squishy, indoneasian meatball is chewy and bouncy. The meatball is served in hot flavorfull broth made from beef bone and fat with some noodles ( beehoon, glass noodle, yellow noodle) and vegetables ( beansprout, sawi, pak choy ). Here are two recomended places in Karawang to find a good bowl of bakso. Both places are on online delivery application (Grab, Gojek)
1. Yatmin

Yatmin might be the most legendary and oldest 'warung bakso' in Karawang. They've been around since 1960 and have several branches around the town. With that kind of experience, we can easily say that that their bakso is the most approved bakso by 'orang Karawang'
These are their signature/best seller dishes. Bakso urat ( urat means muscle, the urat gives a lot of texture to the meatball), Bakso halus ( softer than bakso urat) and es campur ( avocado, jackfruit, coconut flesh, and some jelly in sweet cocopandan milky syrup ) for dessert
Besides the dishes above they also have some other options in the menu; mie ayam ( noodle served with shredded chicken that been braised in aromatic sweet soy sauce broth; bakso isi rawit ( bakso with a hot spicy surprise inside; bakso isi telur ( bakso with a whole egg inside, yes it is big😋)

2. BMK
BMK is actually a franchise store, so you might find BMK in another area. In Karawang it is located in Mall KCP Galuh Mas. BMK is stands for Bakso Malang Karapitan, so the bakso serve here is slightly different from the bakso in Yatmin. Bakso Malang means a type of bowl of bakso that have many condiment (tofu, dumpling cracker) and the broth is also leaner (less fat)
So as you can see on the menu, the condiment on bakso malang is various and the price is different according to how many condiment you choose.
Other than the bakso menu, BMK also has rice menu with traditional indonesian taste such as nasi ayam sambal matah ( rice and fried chicken with balinese style sambal ) and nasi sop iga ( rice and a bowl of indonesian style rib soup)

So those are our recommendations, if you want a traditional authentic taste of Indonesian warung bakso, Yatmin is your choice, but if you want a more sophisticated place and a good taste, BMK is for you.
Selamat Makan😊
